After visiting Wanaka for a number of years, in 2012 Carlene and I moved here, to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that we love so much. Having been fishing and hunting for over 40 years I have an understanding and appreciation of the form and balance that is required to ensure a knife is more than a piece of steel.

This also carries through to the kitchen where the game is prepared and delight can be found in the cooking of a meal. Being able to combine all these activities with a joy of woodworking and painting has lead to the creation of Wanaka Knife Making.

Seeing someone start the day with, or without any knowledge of knives and metalworking, yet finishing with their own hand crafted knife gives me great pleasure.
