Morning
You will start with a piece of high 01 carbon tool steel, and mark out the shape of your blade, and using metal working and hand tools cut out the basic shape. You will then refine the shape using a linisher and hand filing.
Late morning
The blade will be heated in the forge to 800 degrees Celsius, then quenched in oil to harden the blade. We will then break for lunch, while the blade is placed into the oven to be tempered.
Early afternoon
After lunch you will clean the blade, and do final shaping of the edge. Then fit the brass bolsters and cut a wooden handle with the wood band saw, and fit the handle to the blade.
Afternoon
You will shape the handle to fit your hand, using the linisher and finishing with hand sanding. Finally the knife will be sharpened ready for use.
Your knife will be wrapped for shipping or a sheath will be available for purchase.
Knives can be taken overseas in your checked luggage or can be posted overseas with a customs declaration.
