I would just like to thank you for making this excellent tool for me. Not only does it assist in helping make excellent photos, but it holds an extremely good edge for the entire skinning and field butchery of game. As a semi professional hunter, it's imperative to be able to rely on good quality gear.

   Absolutely awesome

We had an awesome day making knives. From start to finish we had fun and felt completely comfortable. 

We were taught how to do it and given the chance to do each step ourselves. 

We were provided with a lovely lunch which gave us a chance to sit and have a chat. 

My husband loves the show forged in fire so was so excited, I didn’t think I would be able to do it but Rob was on hand supporting us every step of the way. Even when I made a mistake he was there to help me correct it, not once making me feel silly. 

It’s an awesome day whether you are a knife fanatic or just wanting to do something different. 

So chuffed with our knives and can’t wait to show off our handy work.

Great day and great experience!

I had been looking forward to this day for ages. My wife had given this to me as a Christmas present and I have to say that it was right up there with my all time favourite presents! My host and mentor was the owner of the business "Rob" and chance would have it that I had his undivided attention all day (9.00am to 4.30pm) and the whole day was dedicated to him teaching me the skills involved in making a fantastic piece of kit that I will treasure for ever. I could not recommend this experience highly enough. If you like making things and if you are in the area and can dedicate a day, Just Do It!

What a great day spent at Wanaka Knife making. Rob was a great teacher and host, passing on his experience to allow us to make our own knifes from scratch. Cutting, filing, drilling, sanding, heating using a furnace, polishing and by the end of the day you get to take the knife you have made home. I would recommend this as an activity to do if you are in the Wanaka region.

Just Magic

It was a magical day and I can not recommend it enough. From 9-4:30 we worked and yarned and created. The pace was perfect, it was challenging and I love the final product as much as I loved the process.

Had a great day crafting a hunting knife from a steel blank, to a finished knife. Hardened and tempered. Thoroughly recommend it. Groups of 2 for a full day 9-4.30 ish.

A knife for life

We both had a great experience with Rob. He has a great depth of knowledge and can guide you to create nearly any shaped knife. They are all made with good quality carbon steel and has a great range of native and exotic timber to create your handle. Pete and I are really happy with our product. We definitely recommend giving it a crack and we would both come again.

 I made my own kitchen knife!!!

Rob is the man and guided me to make my very own kitchen .

It was such an accomplishment and something I have been wanting to do for a long time, I highly recommend doing this as an activity but also to have a knife that actually cuts and has an edge that will last that I made with my own 2 hands is pretty cool.

This is a great day of crafting, shaping, sanding, & buffing. From raw steel to a finished product. Rob was very patient and gave enough time to make a great piece- no rushing! Even helped with a lift to and from town!

Loved It

I didn’t really know what to expect from this but when I saw the brochure it really appealed to me as I wasn’t skiing with my family and I wanted to do something interesting while they were up at the snow. I had such a great day making my knife which will now be my go-to steak knife at home. I’d highly recommend it as an alternative activity if you are looking to pass a day in Wanaka
